The Deal

As
I have now discovered that there is a law suit filed against the city
on the smoking ban issue, I will leave that subject alone (hooray!
I hear you shout). All I will say on the subject now is that, as I
believe in freedom, I will be voting for candidates that wish to overturn
the ban in the upcoming elections and hope that Danny Weber becomes
mayor (he was one of only two that voted against it). |
My
son got Girl Scout cookies for Christmas... Six boxes of them: three
Thin Mints (his very favorite) and three Samoas – the only
other kind he cares anything about at all. And, mind you, these
did not come from the depths of someone’s freezer in late

Every
so often, the citizens of Galveston get a chance to make a difference
in the way the city is run. We call these great times “elections,”
and on the island, your vote really does matter. That’s because
only 2730 of us voted in the last Council and Mayoral election.
In

You
have got to be kidding me; I cannot believe it happened again. If
someone would have told me that this would happen a second time, I

me began to burn, I was going to live like MM. Of course I am not
going down the road of the not so happy ending where my death is
made to look like a suicide, by a government official that could

I can’t
really put my finger on it, but it’s there. You know the feeling
that requires more than one factor to make you feel a certain way?
The culmination
of several different emotions hitting you at once and making your
soul smile is the best I can describe it.
When you’re
surfing, this feeling hits a lot. Whether it’s pulling up
to the beach with a couple friends, jumping out of the truck in
excitement and throwing your wetsuit on as fast as possible; or
simply walking down the beach, board in hand and wading out into
the surf.
